Jasperoid appears Glassy or Pearly and Migmatite appears Dull, Banded and Foilated. The luster of Jasperoid is vitreous and pearly while that of Migmatite is dull to pearly to subvitreous. Jasperoid is available in black, brown, colourless, green, grey, pink, white colors whereas Migmatite is available in black, bluish - grey, brown, brown- black, dark greenish - grey, dark grey to black colors. The commercial uses of Jasperoid are an oil and gas reservoir, as a feed additive for livestock, gemstone, metallurgical flux, production of lime, soil conditioner, source of magnesia (mgo) and that of Migmatite are cemetery markers, jewelry, tombstones, used to manufracture paperweights and bookends.
