Definition
Trondhjemite is a leucocratic (light-colored) intrusive igneous rock. It is a variety of tonalite in which the plagioclase is mostly in the form of oligoclase. Trondhjemites are sometimes known as plagiogranites.

Vogesite is a porphyritic alkaline igneous rock and is a variety of Lamprophyre which is dominated by essential amphibole, usually hornblende, and potassic feldspar

Formation
When alkali feldspar is extracted from granite, it changes to granitoid and later, it becomes trondhjemite with quartz as major mineral.

Vogesite formation takes place deep beneath the Earth’s surface at around 150 to 450 kilometres, and are erupted rapidly and violently.

Trondhjemite vs Vogesite Characteristics
Though some rocks look identical, they have certain characteristics which distinguish them from others. Characteristics of rocks include texture, appearance, color, fracture, streak, hardness etc. Trondhjemite vs Vogesite characteristics assist us to distinguish and recognize rocks. Also you can check about Properties of Trondhjemite and Properties of Vogesite. Learn more about Trondhjemite vs Vogesite in the next section. The interior uses of Trondhjemite include Decorative aggregates, Entryways, Flooring, Homes and Interior decoration whereas the interior uses of Vogesite include Decorative aggregates, Entryways, Flooring, Homes and Interior decoration. Due to some exceptional properties of Trondhjemite and Vogesite, they have various applications in construction industry. The uses of Trondhjemite in construction industry include As dimension stone, Cement manufacture, Cobblestones, Construction aggregate, For road aggregate and that of Vogesite include As dimension stone, Cement manufacture, For road aggregate, Making natural cement, Manufacture of magnesium and dolomite refractories.
More about Trondhjemite and Vogesite
Here you can know more about Trondhjemite and Vogesite. The life cycle of a rock consists of formation of rock, composition of rock and transformation of rock. The composition of Trondhjemite and Vogesite consists of mineral content and compound content. The mineral content of Trondhjemite includes Albite, Amphibole, Apatite, Biotite, Feldspar, Hornblade, Ilmenite, Magnetite, Manganese Oxides, Olivine, Plagioclase, Pyroxene, Quartz, Sulfides, Titanite, Zircon and mineral content of Vogesite includes Amphibole, Carbonate, Garnet, Micas, Olivine, Phlogopite, Pyroxene. You can also check out the list of all Igneous Rocks. When we have to compare Trondhjemite vs Vogesite, the texture, color and appearance plays an important role in determining the type of rock. Trondhjemite is available in black, brown, light to dark grey, white colors whereas, Vogesite is available in black, bluish - grey, brown, dark greenish - grey, green, grey colors. Appearance of Trondhjemite is Banded and Foilated and that of Vogesite is Dull, Banded and Foilated. Properties of rock is another aspect for Trondhjemite vs Vogesite. The hardness of Trondhjemite is 6-7 and that of Vogesite is 5-6. The types of Trondhjemite are Not Available whereas types of Vogesite are Minette, Alnoite, Camptonite, Monchiquite, Fourchite, Vogesite, Appinite and Spessartite. Streak of rock is the color of powder produced when it is dragged across an unweathered surface. The streak of Trondhjemite is bluish black while that of Vogesite is white. The specific heat capacity of Trondhjemite is 0.92 kJ/Kg K and that of Vogesite is Not Available. Depending on the properties like hardness, toughness, specific heat capacity, porosity etc., rocks are resistant to heat, wear, impact, etc.Trondhjemite is heat resistant, pressure resistant, wear resistant whereas Vogesite is heat resistant, impact resistant.
