Skarn belongs to Metamorphic Rocks while Evaporite belongs to Sedimentary Rocks.Texture of Skarn is Earthy, Mud-rich, Rough whereas that of Evaporite is Earthy. Skarn appears Dull and Evaporite appears Glassy, Vesicular and Foilated. The luster of Skarn is waxy and dull while that of Evaporite is subvitreous to dull. Skarn is available in black, brown, colourless, green, grey, white colors whereas Evaporite is available in colourless, green, grey, silver, white colors. The commercial uses of Skarn are creating artwork, gemstone, jewelry, metallurgical flux, source of magnesia (mgo) and that of Evaporite are used in the manufacture of ceramic powder, used in the preparation of sulfuric acid and silicon diborite.
