Definition
Felsite is a very fine grained volcanic rock that may or may not contain larger crystals and light colored rock that typically requires petrographic examination or chemical analysis for more precise definition

Chalk is a soft, white, powdery limestone consisting mainly of fossil shells of foraminifers

Formation
Felsite is a fine-grained, hard rock which is a type of metasomatite, essentially altered basalt. It forms with or without crystallization, either below the surface as intrusive rocks or on the surface as extrusive rocks.

Chalk is formed from lime mud, which accumulates on the sea floor which is then transformed into rock by geological processes.

All about Felsite and Chalk Properties
Know all about Felsite and Chalk properties here. All properties of rocks are important as they define the type of rock and its application. Felsite belongs to Igneous Rocks while Chalk belongs to Sedimentary Rocks.Texture of Felsite is Arborescent Patterned, Vitreous whereas that of Chalk is Clastic or Non-Clastic. Felsite appears Layered, Banded, Veined and Shiny and Chalk appears Soft. The luster of Felsite is vitreous while that of Chalk is dull. Felsite is available in black, blue, brown, green, orange, red, tan, yellow colors whereas Chalk is available in grey, white, yellow colors. The commercial uses of Felsite are mirror, jewelry and that of Chalk are alumina refineries, creating artwork, drawing on blackboards, gymnasts, athletes and mountain climbers use for grip, in aquifers, paper industry, production of lime, raw material for manufacture of quicklime, slaked lime, soil conditioner, whiting, whiting material in toothpaste, paint and paper.
