1.1 Formation
Rhomb-porphyre est une roche dure à grains fins, qui est un type de metasomatite, basalte altéré. Il forme avec ou sans cristallisation.
porphyre est formé en deux étapes: le magma se refroidit lentement au plus profond de la croûte ou le magma est refroidit rapidement comme il éclate un volcan, la création de petits grains qui sont habituellement invisibles à oeil nu.
