The luster of Sovite is subvitreous to dull while that of Luxullianite is dull to grainy with sporadic parts pearly and vitreous. Sovite is available in black, brown, colourless, green, grey, pink, white colors whereas Luxullianite is available in black, grey, orange, pink, white colors. The commercial uses of Sovite are an oil and gas reservoir, as a feed additive for livestock, creating artwork, gemstone, metallurgical flux, production of lime, soil conditioner, source of magnesia (mgo) and that of Luxullianite are creating artwork, curling, gemstone, laboratory bench tops, tombstones.
