Formation

Formation
Quartzite forms from sandstone and the mineral quartz being put under extreme heat and pressure.
Pantellerite is a fine-grained, hard rock which is a type of metasomatite, essentially altered basalt. It forms with or without crystallization, either below the surface as intrusive rocks or on the surface as extrusive rocks.

All about Quartzite and Pantellerite Properties

Know all about Quartzite and Pantellerite properties here. All properties of rocks are important as they define the type of rock and its application. Quartzite belongs to Metamorphic Rocks while Pantellerite belongs to Igneous Rocks.Texture of Quartzite is Foliated, Granular whereas that of Pantellerite is Eutaxitic. Quartzite appears Lustrous and Pantellerite appears Layered and Foliated. The luster of Quartzite is vitreous while that of Pantellerite is earthy. Quartzite is available in black, blue, brown, green, light grey, purple, white, yellow colors whereas Pantellerite is available in dark greenish - grey colors. The commercial uses of Quartzite are an oil and gas reservoir, as armour rock for sea walls, cemetery markers, commemorative tablets, in aquifers, laboratory bench tops, petroleum reservoirs, soil conditioner, source of magnesia (mgo), tombstones, used in aquariums and that of Pantellerite are creating artwork.
