Minette and Granite belong to Igneous Rocks.Texture of Minette is Porphyritic whereas that of Granite is Granular, Phaneritic. Minette appears Dull, Banded and Foilated and Granite appears Veined or Pebbled. The luster of Minette is subvitreous to dull while that of Granite is dull to grainy with sporadic parts pearly and vitreous. Minette is available in black, bluish - grey, brown, dark greenish - grey, green, grey colors whereas Granite is available in black, grey, orange, pink, white colors. The commercial uses of Minette are an oil and gas reservoir, as a feed additive for livestock, gemstone, metallurgical flux, production of lime, soil conditioner, source of magnesia (mgo) and that of Granite are curling, gemstone, laboratory bench tops, tombstones, used in aquariums.
